What We Believe
-
We believe the Bible to be the inspired authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
-
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:6-8)
-
We believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His imminent and personal return. (John 20:31, John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 2:21-24)
-
We believe the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who believe. (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38-39, Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17)
-
We believe that all people are lost and guilty of sin. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and people. Salvation is brought about, not by works, but by faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross as the sacrifice for the sins of the world. Those who have been saved will be resurrected to life with the Lord forever. Those lost will be resurrected to eternal separation from God. (Romans 3:23, Galatians 4:4-7; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:8, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 22:20, John 5:24, 28-29)
-
We believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we are called to serve Him by serving others, living out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor, and justice for the oppressed. In doing this we are to apply God’s Word, the Spirit’s power and fervent prayer in Christ’s name. (Isaiah 58:6-11, Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 4:13, Ephesians 3:20, Matthew 25:40) 25:40)
