“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126:1-3
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Build Hope Dinner and Auction on Oct. 28th. Over 150 guests joined us for an evening of stories, tears, and competing bids. This year’s theme of celebration made it stand out from previous years. Brightly colored strips of fabric fluttered from the ceiling in the fashion of Kenyan celebration. Guests crowded around auction tables – eager to get in their bids on Corn Hole, hotel packages, essential oils, and even a customized doll house. Photos of the over 100 families that received homes through the Connect-A-Family and Kieni Resettlement Program burst across the wall with enthusiasm.
By the end of the evening, the dinner raised over $55,000, ensuring families in rural Kenya will receive the hope that comes from improved access to education, medical care, and transformed living conditions. Thank you to the numerous corporate sponsors, auction item donors, volunteers, and attendees that made the night a glorious success.
