This has been a long road for the former residents of the Kieni camp, who did not have a hope or a future after years of living as refugees in tent shacks – mourning the loss of family and pushed from their original homes. However, by the boundless provisions through you, many of these former refugees are now home owners who can provide shelter, warmth, and protection for their families. A home provides so much more than a dry bed. It helps guard against recurrent disease, gives adults the resources to farm, and children the ability to focus on their schooling.
It is exciting for us to see those who grew up as children in the camp now as adults being able to move into homes and raise their own children. Through your outpouring of love, these families have experienced first hand the immeasurable love and provision of Christ, and how he has a hope and a future for their families and communities. Justice and unity has been restored and now pours out from the leaders that have arisen from your friendship and example.
We want to thank all of the countless families, churches, organizations, and individuals that partnered with Expansion International through the years. Don’t miss your opportunity to formally celebrate this momentous accomplishment with us at this year’s 4th Annual Build Hope Dinner on October 28, 2016!
